Installation Notes

Installing the BMW F80 carbon trunk lid is a direct replacement of the factory part. Professional installation is recommended:

1. Open the trunk and remove interior trim to expose hinge bolts.
2. Disconnect the trunk lock electrical connector.
3. With a second person assisting, remove the original steel trunk lid from the hinges.
4. Bolt the new carbon trunk lid to the hinges and torque progressively to the manufacturer's recommended torque.
5. Transfer the M3 badge, license plate housing, lock mechanism, and CHMSL light cluster to the new lid.
6. Verify lid-to-bumper alignment and fine-tune hinge slot bolts.

Care & Maintenance

Wash with pH-neutral car shampoo. Apply carbon-safe sealant every 6 months. Keep pressure washer nozzle at least 30 cm from surface.

FAQ

Does this trunk lid fit the F82 Coupé or F83 Convertible?
No. F82 coupé and F83 cabriolet use different trunk geometry. This product is for F80 sedan only. Separate carbon trunk lids are available for F82/F83.

Does it fit the G80?
No. G80 (M3 Sedan) is a 2021+ next-generation M car with different chassis geometry and the S58 engine. A separate G80 carbon trunk lid is available in our catalog.

Compatible with M3 CS and Competition trims?
Yes. All F80 trims (standard, Competition, CS) share the same trunk geometry.

Does this fit the BMW M2 F87?
No. M2 F87 has a different chassis even though it shares the S55 engine.

Are the OEM badge and license plate housing reused?
Yes. The original M3 badge, license plate light, and lock mechanism transfer over — all OEM accessories are reused.
