Installation Notes

Installing the BMW F80 / F82 carbon GTS hood is a direct replacement of the factory aluminum part. Professional installation is strongly recommended:

1. Open the hood and expose hinge bolts; disconnect washer fluid lines.
2. With a second person, remove the original aluminum hood from the hinges.
3. Because the carbon hood is lighter than the aluminum original, lower-force gas struts (e.g., 50N) may be needed for proper opening behavior — supplied with the product or sold separately.
4. Bolt the new carbon hood to the hinges and torque progressively to the manufacturer's recommended values.
5. Reconnect washer fluid lines and nozzles.
6. Verify hood-to-fender-to-headlight alignment and fine-tune hinge slot bolts.

Care & Maintenance

Wash with pH-neutral car shampoo. Apply carbon-safe sealant every 6 months. Keep pressure washer nozzle at least 30 cm from surface.

FAQ

Does this hood fit the G80 / G82?
No. G80 (M3 Sedan) and G82 (M4 Coupé) are 2021+ next-generation M cars with a completely different hood shape and the S58 engine. A separate G-generation carbon hood is available in our catalog.

Is there a hood-fitment difference between F80 Sedan and F82 Coupé?
No. F80 sedan and F82 coupé / F83 convertible share the same hood dimensions and hinge geometry.
