BMW M3 G80 / M4 G82 / M2 G87 Titanium Downpipe

Engineered for BMW M3 G80, M4 G82, and M2 G87 owners, this Titanium Downpipe bolts directly to the S58 platform shared by all three M cars. Manufactured in Europe and quality-controlled by BYC Performance, the titanium downpipe spans from the turbo outlet to the catback inlet.

The Grade 5 titanium body is noticeably lighter than stainless steel and develops a premium natural heat-tint finish. Direct fit on M3 G80 Sedan, M4 G82 Coupé, and M2 G87 Coupé thanks to the shared S58 turbo geometry. The system houses a 200-cell high-flow catalyst.

  • De-Cat: Catalyst removed, higher flow and more aggressive note — ECU tune required, CEL may activate

Installation Notes

Downpipe replacement requires lift access and professional installation. General procedure:

  1. Lift the vehicle and remove the underbody and heat shields.
  2. Release the turbo outlet v-band clamp and remove the stock downpipe.
  3. Carefully unplug lambda sensors from their stock bungs.
  4. Mount the new titanium downpipe to the turbo flange and torque the v-band clamp (12 Nm — titanium spec).
  5. Reinstall lambda sensors in the new bungs and reconnect their plugs.
  6. Make the catback v-band connection and leak-check the system.

Care & Maintenance

Titanium is naturally corrosion-resistant. The heat-tint develops during the first track-temperature cycles and intensifies over time — avoid aggressive chemicals and wipe with a soft cloth. Re-check v-band torque after first 500 km. Titanium has no protective coating, so avoid oil and fingerprints on the visible surface.

FAQ

Will the 200-cell catalyst trigger a CEL/MIL?
No. The 200-cell high-flow catalyst keeps emissions readings at stock levels and does not trigger OBD codes.

Is an ECU tune required?
No. The 200-cell variant runs on the stock ECU. A tune is only recommended on the de-cat variant.

Does it fit both M3 G80 and M4 G82?
Yes. M3 G80 Sedan, M4 G82 Coupé, and M4 G83 Convertible share the same S58 turbo geometry — one downpipe covers all trims.

Does it fit the M2 G87?
Yes. The shared S58 platform makes this fully compatible with the BMW M2 G87 Coupe (2023+).

What about the M4 G83 Convertible or M3 Touring G81?
Yes — both share the same S58 turbo geometry.

Will it fit the previous-gen M3 F80 / M4 F82?
No. F80/F82/F87 models use the S55 engine with a different turbo flange.
