Installation Notes

Installing the BMW M5 F90 carbon hood is a direct replacement of the factory part. Professional installation is recommended:

1. Open the hood and remove the OEM engine bay insulation (to be transferred to the new hood).
2. Detach the gas struts and remove the hinge bolts.
3. Because the carbon hood is noticeably lighter than steel, the OEM gas struts may overshoot or change the closing feel; a lower-newton gas strut upgrade is recommended.
4. Mount the carbon hood to the hinges and test-fit for alignment (4-6 mm gap to fenders).
5. Adjust the latch mechanism; transfer the engine insulation material.

Care & Maintenance

Wash with pH-neutral car shampoo. Apply carbon-safe sealant every 6 months. Keep pressure washer nozzle at least 30 cm from surface. Water entering the vents is normal — the design includes drainage.
