Installation Notes

Installing the BMW M2 G87 carbon front lip is owner-installable with careful alignment:

1. Clean the bumper's lower surface with isopropyl alcohol (IPA).
2. Dry-fit the lip to the bumper curve; mark left-right gaps.
3. Peel the pre-applied 3M VHB tape liner.
4. Press the lip into place and secure with supplied bolts on the underside to the manufacturer's recommended torque.
5. Install at an ambient temperature of at least 18°C and do not wash the vehicle for 24 hours.

Care & Maintenance

Wash with pH-neutral car shampoo. Apply carbon-safe sealant every 6 months. Keep pressure washer nozzle at least 30 cm from the surface. Be cautious of curbs.

FAQ

Will the lip scrape on driveways?
At factory ride height, taking ramps and speed bumps carefully is sufficient. On lowered suspensions, lip clearance is more critical.

Does this lip fit the BMW M2 F87 (2016-2021)?
No. G87 and F87 have different bumper geometry and lip length. A separate carbon lip is available for F87.

Will adaptive headlights or front sensors be affected?
No. The lip attaches to the lower bumper edge and does not affect sensor or adaptive headlight range.

Is it compatible with the S58-powered M2 G87?
Yes — fits all M2 G87 trims (standard, Competition, and the upcoming CS). Lips for M3 G80 / M4 G82 are listed separately.

Is it tape-only or bolted?
Both. The lip is secured with OEM clips, pre-applied 3M VHB tape, and hidden underside bolts.
