Installation Notes

Installing the BMW M2 G87 carbon hood is a direct replacement of the factory part. Professional installation is strongly recommended:

1. Open the hood, disconnect gas struts, and loosen hinge bolts.
2. Carefully lift off the OEM steel hood with two people.
3. Align the carbon hood to the hinges; equalize bumper and fender gaps.
4. Because the carbon hood is lighter, verify that existing gas struts do not overextend; lower-pressure struts may be required.
5. Position the under-vent heat insulation pad correctly.
6. Torque all bolts to the manufacturer's recommended values.

Care & Maintenance

Wash with pH-neutral car shampoo. Apply carbon-safe sealant every 6 months. Keep pressure washer nozzle at least 30 cm from the surface. Periodically inspect the inside of the vents.

Will the vents allow water into the engine bay?
No. The vents are designed with rain deflectors at the top, and the heat insulation pad below blocks water ingress.

Does this fit the BMW M2 F87 (2016-2021)?
No. G87 and F87 have different chassis codes and hood geometry. A separate carbon hood is available for F87.

Will the factory gas struts hold the new hood?
Because the carbon hood is significantly lighter, factory struts may overextend it. Lower-pressure struts are recommended.

Is it compatible with the S58-powered M2 G87?
